Symonds
Yat is a popular tourist area in the Wye Valley
offering spectacular views and vantage points for bird
watching, in particular peregrine falcons.

There are opportunities for those who are energetic
to go mountain biking, walking, canoeing down the rapids,
boat trips, and a hedge maze.
Other activities include the following:
| Walking
Just behind the Old Pump House is the footpath
from Symonds Yat West to Biblins. This route takes
you through the narrow gorge of the Wye through
Lord's Wood below the Doward. It is possible to
cross the Wye river on the suspension bridge and
return to Symonds Yat East along the Wye Valley
Walk. A hand ferry is available from the Saracens
Head Inn, it is a good idea to check the operating
times of the ferry in advance.

Canoes can be hired from Symonds
Yat West and East.
There is a public launch site at Kerne Bridge.
